d&rsquo;apn\u00e9e obstructive du sommeil, qui est associ\u00e9e \u00e0 des probl\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9, d&rsquo;apprentissage et de comportement tels que le d\u00e9ficit de l&rsquo;attention et l&rsquo;hyperactivit\u00e9. Elle est pr\u00e9sente chez 4 % des hommes d&rsquo;\u00e2ge moyen et 2 % des femmes d&rsquo;\u00e2ge moyen, et augmente significativement chez le patient plus \u00e2g\u00e9. Les adultes souffrant d&rsquo;apn\u00e9e obstructive du sommeil ont un sommeil de tr\u00e8s mauvaise qualit\u00e9 et, par cons\u00e9quent, ont des probl\u00e8mes d&rsquo;attention, de concentration, de dext\u00e9rit\u00e9 manuelle, de motricit\u00e9 visuelle, de m\u00e9moire et de fonctions ex\u00e9cutives. Ces d\u00e9ficits peuvent contribuer aux accidents du travail et les accidents de la route sont sept fois plus fr\u00e9quents que dans la population g\u00e9n\u00e9rale. \u00c0 long terme, les patients sont pr\u00e9dispos\u00e9s \u00e0 l&rsquo;hypertension art\u00e9rielle, aux maladies cardiaques, aux accidents vasculaires c\u00e9r\u00e9braux, \u00e0 la d\u00e9pression et au pression positive continue (PPC) est l&rsquo;\u00e9talon-or du traitement, mais de nombreux patients ne peuvent pas tol\u00e9rer l&rsquo;utilisation du masque. Parce que le principal contributeur \u00e0 la cause de l&rsquo;apn\u00e9e obstructive du sommeil est une anomalie sous-jacente de la m\u00e2choire qui r\u00e9tr\u00e9cit ou obstrue les voies respiratoires du patient, les patients incapables d&rsquo;utiliser la PPC peuvent subir une chirurgie d&rsquo;avancement de la m\u00e2choire pour \u00e9largir les voies respiratoires et gu\u00e9rir leur apn\u00e9e. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9montr\u00e9 que cette chirurgie r\u00e9duit le ronflement chez 83 % des patients et \u00e9limine le besoin d&rsquo;utiliser la PPC chez 96 % des patients.<\/p><p>La chirurgie d&rsquo;avancement maxillo-mandibulaire est la seule proc\u00e9dure qui peut traiter les anomalies dans toutes les r\u00e9gions anatomiques de la t\u00eate et du cou identifi\u00e9es comme pouvant avoir un effet direct ou indirect sur l&rsquo;apn\u00e9e obstructive du sommeil. Les chirurgiens buccaux et maxillo-faciaux ont une exp\u00e9rience et une expertise consid\u00e9rables dans la chirurgie de la m\u00e2choire sup\u00e9rieure et inf\u00e9rieure pour corriger les d\u00e9formations dentaires et faciales. Un diagnostic pr\u00e9cis d&rsquo;une anatomie anormale qui peut \u00eatre trait\u00e9e en une seule intervention chirurgicale (avanc\u00e9e de la m\u00e2choire) devrait \u00e9viter de multiples proc\u00e9dures inutiles.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div
